How to Play a Walking Bass Line -- powered by eHow.com
Walking your bass lines allows for smoother transitions to other chords. The passing tones act as a filler on the bass to keep the rhythm together and keep everyone on time. For guitarists, it's kind of like adding a "chucka" during your changes to make your changes sound fuller and more gradual. If you have a general idea about how songs are arraigned, you shouldn't have a problem following the instructor. Just take your time, practice your scales and you'll be walking your bass like a pro.
